Using a bibliography that includes books like eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven Uta Ranke-Heinemann and The Legion of Alejandro Espinosa, Carlos Aguirre addresses some of the contradictions and absurdities that religious discourse has produced throughout history in the sample Ohdios which opens on May 22, 2009 at 20:00 in Ex Teresa Arte Actual.

Framed by the seat of Ex Teresa Arte Actual, a Catholic church in the seventeenth century, this important artist revise the speech that many characters have handled the Catholic Church about sexuality, virginity, homophobia, pedophilia, misogyny, and that made the moral and ethical lives of thousands of believers.

The exhibition will include a series of light boxes bearing pieces of collage, combining drawings with phrases taken up in its original typography of Mexican and U.S. newspapers. In these works, letters and colors become textures; the words out of context and take on new meaning when combined together.

Among other pieces, the viewer will find phrases mounted neon signs, written by several saints and who are openly misogynistic as: "Some women are hungry for pleasure and are worse than animals." These statements hardly Catholics remember, Aguirre the light displays, making sure not to go unnoticed.

For much of his life Carlos Aguirre has collected an interesting series of articles, statements and briefing notes printed mass media. In this collection of 144 extracted the name reported as priests accused of pedophilia. These names in a robe embroidered in black to be part of this exhibition.

Aguirre's artwork has shown a particular interest in language and signs, the gap between words and their meanings, between words and their content. The most recurrent themes in the work of this important artist to emerge from the analysis and reporting of some cultural practices and policies that affect the individual. On display
Ohdios addresses the harmful manipulation of language specific religious and political discourse. Special mention should be an interactive piece, created in collaboration with visual artist Urs Graf, who is a software that combines random phrases spoken by priests, bishops and cardinals, video-projected on one wall of the exhibition.

The show also includes a portrait of who caricatured and dissected out alive leader of the Legionaries of Christ, Marcial Marcel. I'm back after a while without uploading anything. This is the last work of the subject, and as the weeks go by it seems that almost all we are doing odd jobs, touching the limits of what is commonly accepted as art, and more political. In fact people say that out of class trying to burn things. That's fine, a little gasoline for the ideas, but only as each one views things personally and question, we are not here to advertise anything.

This work is half to Caterina, a girl in class. Try to show in a visceral and aggressive how GM food is sold without let people know exactly the dangers. The debate on this is open and will surely continue so long, but I've always sounded like a commercial defense of highly dubious.

With this in mind we did what is called a Product Placement in English, presenting a new product, a real company devoted to the issue, Singenta. We made a poster and the delicious apple you see below. Is a very trite and unoriginal, it seems that the concept has been virtually adopted by the opponents to this type of product, but we wanted to do anyway.
